The creativity of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community continues as a player constructs an innovative rooftop balcony in the game.
There are so many factors that make Animal Crossing: New Horizons such a critical and sales success. The second highest-selling Switch title, behind only Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, provides a lot of replayability and diversity in gameplay for countless players. Fans have thought of new ideas for Animal Crossing: New Horizons despite the game being nearly two years old. The most recent example is a player managing to create a rooftop balcony for their home.
The creativity of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community is seemingly endless. Whether finding new ways to innovate in the game or even making art outside of it, the fans have come together around the cutesy and relaxing series in a special way. One player’s house extension idea is something that Nintendo may even want to take notice of and add as a proper feature in the next game.
Recently, a Reddit user posted a few rooftop balcony images on the r/AnimalCrossing subreddit. The post has gone viral, as it is something that many players may want to try themselves. The player used the Island Designer tool to raise the ground behind the house. Additionally, the ground was then changed slightly to match the color of the roof of the home. From the right angle, it makes it look like players can walk on a rooftop balcony that would be connected to their residence. The final product also works perfectly with a new tool that was added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons late last year.
Nintendo added the ability to place permanent ladders in Animal Crossing: New Horizons in November of 2021. With this, players can then climb up and down the balcony with ease. It almost looks like a player could get to the balcony through a back door on the second story, but of course, this isn’t the case. So instead, the ladder works flawlessly.
On top of creating a rooftop balcony that is accessible and looks attached to the home, the Reddit user “dressed-up” the balcony with various decorations and items. The fence, plant, chair, and clothesline all look right at home on the balcony, which makes the construction all the more believable. Among the hundred-plus comments, there were many who said they were now also going to give this idea a try. Given the inventiveness of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community, there will likely be plenty of players who come up with gorgeous rooftop balconies of their own.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
