Secret Styling Club x Shelter: new Christmas workshop to offer top interior tips and raise money for homeless charity

Rough-sleeping figures in London are at a record high, with 8,855 people recorded living on the streets according to figures published by the Greater London Authority.

You can do your bit this Christmas — with the added bonus of making your own decorations — at a seasonal workshop run by Secret Styling Club in collaboration with housing charity Shelter.

The exclusive event will be held in Shelter’s shop in Covent Garden next Monday. All the money raised on the night will be donated to Shelter.

Shoppers will be able to pick up Christmas gifts, donate to the charity and raise money for the extremely worthwhile cause on the night.

The festive workshop will offer top tips on tablescaping and visitors will be able to make their own table centrepiece

Run by interior stylists Laurie Davidson (@lifeofaninteriorstylist) and Maxine Brady (@welovehomeblog), the two-hour workshop will teach visitors how to make a festive centrepiece for their tables over Christmas, using only items found in charity shops.

Laurie and Maxine will also give styling tips on tablescaping — the next top interior trend — while a gardening expert will offer advice on potting plants for any green-fingered enthusiasts.

There will be festive refreshments on tap and the opportunity to shop for any last-minute gifts for friends and family.

The seasonal workshop will run on December 16, from 6-8pm and tickets are £10. Spaces are limited so book your place here.

Meanwhile, Shelter’s pop-up shop will be open until December 21 and its enticing gifts include stocking fillers, high-end bargains, seasonal gifts and Christmas cards, plus jewellery and collectibles.

Shoppers will also be able to use ‘tap to donate’ points to automatically give £3 to the charity, which helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness.
