Planning the Perfect Event

A memorable event does not just happen. Whether you are planning a wedding, a company party or the best baby shower in town, the success is in the planning. Planning can take a good deal of time and effort. For your results to pay off, there are several aspects that need thought and attention ahead of time. The guidelines below may be helpful for you.

Food

Decide whether you are having a formal meal with seating and place settings or whether it is a mingle where people with carry a plate of finger food. Then you can decide on a menu of stuffed lobster, fried chicken or sloppy joes accordingly. Make sure to include drinks and desserts in your planning.

Décor

Is this a back yard event or will you need to rent a canopy and chairs for a large venue? Will it be a poolside wedding with lights floating on the water or a barn reception with light floating in the trees? If you are short on chairs, tables or other décor to set the mood call the linen rentals Oahu residents rely on for party rentals.

Activities and Entertainment

Most any kind of party or gathering needs some form of organized activity or entertainment. Whether that is a DJ or live band, an award or video presentation, or a roast to the bride and groom, make sure you have something planned or people may feel a bit lost or awkward. Make sure there is a clear direction and that invited guests understand what it is to be.

Suggested Dress

Speaking of awkward, how will the guest feel who wears jeans and a t-shirt to a white tie event – or vice versa. It may be helpful to clarify dress code by adding a simple line to the bottom of the invitation that says “formal dress,” “casual attire,” or even “bring a bathing suit if you would like to swim.”

Letting your guests know what is expected of them will be a big help as well. Don’t assume they will just figure it out when they get there. By considering each of the areas above, you are more likely to achieve a successful event.
